In the event of this happening you may wish to simply reschedule or there may be time to to arrange a different weekend swap through our impulse swap section which will be coming onstream shortly.
The simplest way is to immediately message the homeowners and arrange to collect or have it sent on as soon as is practicable.
Yes, homeowners who are willing to swap with their pets will have been identified as such on the platform and arrangements can be made between both parties.
As no money ever exchanges hands during a swap, you are simply exchanging properties for the weekend, then renters with the permission of their landlord (they may also wish to check insurance) should be in a position to swap.
There’s absolutely no limit, so 52 potential dates are available and all entirely covered by the yearly subscription
Simply Fill in the online form and comply with the security requests which include your ID and a current utility bill. There is an annual fee of €120 which covers you for as many swaps as you like over the course of the year.
To let other members see your property it will be necessary to upload at least 3 photographs but preferably more. The better the picture quality, the easier it will be for other members to appreciate what you are offering thus increasing your swap opportunities, which will allow you to enjoy lots of different locations.
On payment of the yearly subscription you have access to a library of potential home swaps and discounted activities any of which can lead to a memorable weekend. You simply fill in your available dates and send it out to the WeekendAway world and open up a whole new universe.
Simply click cancel and you automatically cease to become a member of WeekendAwaySwap at the end of your yearly membership.
Swapping for the weekend with WeekendAwaySwap is an arrangement between people with like minded views and based on an understanding and trust that both parties will treat each other’s homes with the utmost care and respect. Problems that occur during house swaps are extremely rare notwithstanding the odd broken cup but please do speak with your home insurer regarding any extra cover you feel you may require.
WeekendAwaySwap will require verification of identity including ID and a current utility bill tied to the property from all members on the site and will ensure that these are correct.
The swap can work in two ways; a) you can select from listings posted for your preferred date, or b) propose a date to House Swap members that have indicated that they are flexible, via direct message.
People who home swap understand the practicalities involved and always treat any home they spend time in as if it were their own. If something were to occur such as a cup/glass breakage, then members can come to an equitable agreement to cover the cost of same. Members can of course consult their home insurer to be advised on any additional cover they feel they may require. Members who do not abide by our Terms and Conditions and Weekend Away Swap policies will have their membership suspended without refund.
Members mostly use one of the following options
- Leave the key in a secure spot known only to the arrival.
- Give the key to a neighbour or friend who will pass it on to the arrival.
- The purchase of an outdoor lock box would be invaluable
If you intend to use your membership to its full potential which could mean taking quite a few breaks over the course of the year. You simply place the keys in the box and pass on the code to the arrival.
